Epic Dark Star!

You have something better to do today?

Nah, didn't think so.

Hmmm...1972...okay...trying...almost there...just about right...arghhh...

Well, I tried. CD player wouldn't accept the disk. Damn.

Did you think I was lost in the desert? Did you worry about me? Did you think I was dying for some cool, clear water?

Well, I was...

But, I made it back to embrace you, Rob...and Miss D. OK, let me embrace her first. And I mean that in the strictly etheral "web-esque" fashion.

Sorry--back to 1972!

And I love you. Because I've learned that Platonic love can exist between two grown men.

Go puck yerself, you hairy halfwit.

:-)

The Canucks went down 7-5 to the Hawks yesterday so my interest is pretty much at an end anyway.

And my interest ended when the Sharks auto-destructed in the first round... like they always do (although, to be fair, on alternate years they do it in the 2nd round).

Crap...I really should have said "hello" to you...as it stands, my post above looks about as pathetic as they come.

Only you understand my pain as a lonely Lakers fan...

Battier, baby!

That said, Lakers take it. Don't you know the league and networks want, and NEED, a Kobe-Lebron showdown?

I knew I could count on you...Yep, your Man showed up big time. While my men--ahem--boys, showed up as usual. Can you believe the bench play? Of course I expect inconsistency from Pau Cushion and Lamar Sharmen Tissue, BUT the rest of them should have done better of late...

Argh.

Sorry for the hijack 72 fans!

Nice to see RTWS (you know who YOU are) talking some sense for a change. Shame it was too much for young(?)Tell.

Let me know when that comet comes round again.

Gotta fly - gotta make it to Roza's back door.

It is an epic Dark Star....even without the drums, about 43 minutes....
In '71 hardly any Dark Stars had even topped 20 minutes....all of a sudden on the Europe '72 tour, half-hour Stars were common, and some were even in the 35-40 minute range....
But on 5/11, they had even more to say - going into Sugar Magnolia>Caution>Truckin' - I think the whole medley's over 80 minutes, perhaps the longest continuous medley until '73?

i've listend to the 5-11 dark star a handfull of times. *it's good*. {but} i like others from the era more. it's long, but it doesn't ever feel inately exploratory (to me) compared to others.
